TOUBAB KREWE
2000/2023
Logo - Album Artwork - Merchandise - App Prototype
Toubab is a name for a white traveller in Western Africa. Not a derogatory word. Krewe is an organization or association that stages a parade or other event for a carnival celebration. They are associated especially with Mardi Gras in New Orleans.
The concept behind the logo is the 5 leaves representing the members of the band who are all connected through growth and travel.
As much as I do not want anymore technology or digitalization in the music industry, I do believe that an app like this might be appropriate for reconnecting music lovers to that irreplaceable feeling and experience you used to get going to a live show. It was a way of life for some people. A summer of travel with destinations planned around shows. Now it is all phones and headphones.
I love music, live music... A real musical experience where you go to enjoy the band, the show. ON TOUR. Use the phone to get there and then put it away and enjoy the show.
